Thursday Night Football
Kansas City Chiefs vs Los Angeles Chargers Expert Pick
It appears that the Kansas City Chiefs may have yet to play their best football this season, as they are now on a six-game winning streak fueled by an increase in DC Steve Spagnuolo’s defense, which allows opponents to score less than 21 points per game, and a likely confrontation with a Chargers’ offense that is ranked 7th.
The Los Angeles Chargers are in high spirits after thrashing the New York Giants, 37-21, with QB Justin Herbert’s three touchdown passes and no interceptions, as well as a 16th-ranked defense that intercepted two passes and sacked the quarterback twice. However, the Chargers may have trouble against a team that allows 26 points per game.
Kansas City has allowed an average of 10.8 points per game during this winning streak, They have been a defensive juggernaut forcing multiple turnovers during the same stretch. Los Angeles has scored 78 points total in the last two games but came against the woeful Bengals and Giants. Take the more superior team.
Pick: Chiefs -3
Saturday
Las Vegas Raider vs Cleveland Browns Expert Pick
The Las Vegas Raiders are in the midst of a six-win, seven-loss skid, although they aren’t out of the playoff picture yet. Carr’s offense has been unable to score frequently, especially with playmaker TE Darren Waller, who is questionable due to an injured knee, on the field.
The Browns looked to be a decent shot at making the playoffs last week, but Cleveland’s offense shut down after halftime, and Baltimore’s comeback was aided by the defense allowing them back in the game, an unbalanced outfit that needs to figure out how to play complimentary football with a banged-up Baker Mayfield at quarterback and DE Myles Garrett sacking passers.
Not to mention nearly 30% of their team is on the reserve/COVID list. There are too many unknowns for the Browns right now and Derek Carr is fighting for his spot in the NFL.
Pick: Raiders -1.5
New England Patriots vs Indianapolis Colts Expert Pick
The New England Patriots are on a league-best seven-game winning streak and Mac Jones, the Bill Belichick’s new prodigy under center, is living up to the hype as their offense shines, with his quick releases and decision making appearing seasoned. With their defense continuing to put a nib on their opponents constraining them to 15 points per game.
It will be up to Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor to push through whatever game plan the Patriots put together in this clash between perhaps two of the AFC’s top teams, and Carson Wentz and head coach Frank Reich must come up with a strategy that includes a lot of passing, which would give them a chance to clinch the Colts as AFC wildcard candidates.
The biggest factor in this game is that rookie quarterback Mac Jones has been picked off only twice in the last 7 games after throwing 6 interceptions during a 4-game stretch in September and October. The rookie does not mess up.
Pick: Patriots ML
Sunday
Carolina Panthers vs Buffalo Bills Expert Pick
Even though the Buffalo Bills have struggled the last month, the Carolina Panthers are the laughing stock of the NFL right now. With once a bright and fast start, Carolina 8 defeats in the last 10 game have pretty much ended their season. The offense is nowhere near the start of the season as the Panthers have scored more than 21 points only once in their last 7 games. Ever since QB Cam Newton said “I’m Back” they have been the worst team in the NFL. Both PJ Walker and Newton combined for 3 interceptions in the Week 14 loss to the Falcons and are now joint-2nd in the NFL for turnovers.
Pick: Bills -10.5
Arizona Cardinals vs Detroit Lions Expert Pick
After a tough Monday Night loss to the Los Angeles Rams, the Arizona Cardinals will now hit the road to take on the Detroit Lions who have no reason winning this game, but covering 100%. Arizona will be without DeAndre Hopkins for the rest of the season and James Conner suffered an injury in which head coach Kingsbury might be cautious on who gets the heavy load against the one win Lions.
Even though the Lions have been horrible this season, they have covered five of the last seven times at home. Too many points
Expert Pick: Lions +12.5
New York Jets vs Miami Dolphins Expert Pick
This one might get ugly bettors. The game might be hard to watch, but watching a winning play head into our favor will ease the pain. The Miami Dolphins have slowly turned into one of the most exciting teams to watch down the stretch as their defense has allowed ten points or less four times in the last five games.
They also feature the eighth best NFL rush defense with allowing 103.8 yards per game and they have surrendered only 10 touchdowns on the ground. This is an easy one.
Pick: Dolphins -10
Dallas Cowboys vs New York Giants Expert Pick
We all saw what happened last week when the Dallas Cowboys took on an average QB at best. Now they take on New York Giants QB Mike Glennon. In the last three games starting, he has thrown four interceptions compared to three touchdowns and has yet to cross over 200 passing yards. The Cowboys are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 meetings. Take the Boyz.
Pick: Dallas Cowboys -10
Washington Football Team vs Philadelphia Eagles Expert Pick
Once again, COVID plays a huge part in this prediction. At the moment there are 18 WFT players who are on the COVID-19 list, nearly enough for an intrasquad scrimmage, after 14 were added Wednesday. Half are potential starters. This same team is taking on the Philadelphia Eagles who are well rested and should see tons of action from Jalen Hurts.
The Eagles are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite.
Pick: Eagles -7
Tennessee Titans vs Pittsburgh Steelers Expert Pick
The Titans are coming off a shutout win over the Jaguars, but should that result really make a difference here? The Titans are still rolling with a very questionable offense ever since the injury to RB Derrick Henry. If A.J. Brown is able to come back for this game, that raises the potential of the offense, but Tennessee hasn’t shown much offensively since losing Derrick Henry. The Steelers get a minibye after following up an atrocious first half on TNF with a late rally to come 12 yards from covering. Big Ben might still have some magic in his pocket here.
The Underdog is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.
Pick: Steelers +2
Houston Texans vs Jacksonville Jaguars Expert Pick
Remember when the NFL season first started and these two teams meet in Week 1? The Jacksonville Jaguars were three point favorites and were hammered by the public because Trevor Lawrence and new head coach Urban Meyer were going to change this league? Yikes.
Now that same time is still three point favorites over the team that blew them out? Friendly reminder the Jaguars have had less than 200 total yards of offense in two straight games. The Texans are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings in Jacksonville.
Pick: Texans +3
Cincinnati Bengals vs Denver Broncos Expert Pick
Yes, the Cincinnati Bengals did lose to the San Francisco 49ers last week and the Denver Broncos are coming off a blow out win. However It’s funny to see how bettors are only looking at last weeks result to decide which wager to place here. The Bengals are 100 times better than the Broncos and the only reason why the Broncos had a massive win was due to the Lions playing bad like usually and a good chunk of the team on reserve/COVID list.
Do you really want to side with Teddy B over Joe Burrow? The Road team is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings and the Bengals are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings in Denver.
Pick: Bengals ML
Atlanta Falcons vs San Francisco 49ers Expert Pick
The Atlanta Falcons will once again rely on Cordarrelle Patterson from every angle as he has led the team in rushing in three straight games. For QB Matt Ryan he has played two straight games without throwing an interception. Keep it simple, the Falcons are heading in the right direction and are still not out of the playoff race
The 49ers are coming off 2 extremely physical games against the Seattle Seahawks and Cincinnati Bengals in which running back Elijah Mitchell might miss another game. It’s hard to see the 49ers holding a big lead in this one, especially with the Falcons being 5-1 ATS in the last 6 games.
Pick: Falcons +9
Seattle Seahawks vs Los Angeles Rams Expert Pick
Yes, the Los Angeles Rams are dealing with reserve/COVID issues, but the line went all the way down from seven favorites to four and counting. Without key players on MNF, the Rams put pressure on Kyler Murray and forced him into mistakes. Just imagine what will happen with Russell Wilson under center. The Seahawks are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 meetings and 2-7 ATS in their last 9 meetings in Los Angeles. If this line jumps back to seven, take Seattle, but anything below four points has to favor the Rams especially after Matthew Stafford best start of the season.
Pick: Rams -4
Green Bay Packers vs Baltimore Ravens Expert Pick
The Green Bay Packers have been red-hot. Even without a toe, Aaron Rodgers has been dealing throws left and right. Remember, the loss to the Minnesota Vikings a couple of weeks ago was the only game in which the Packers have not covered the spread since their Week 1 game against the Saints.
For Baltimore, they have their own QB problems with Lamar Jackson leaving last week’s game with an ankle injury. It’s really unknown how healthy Jackson will be in this one and honestly does not matter as the Favorite is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings.
Pick: Packers -4
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs New Orleans Saints Expert Pick
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have an incredible rush defense and will continue to see the fewest number of rushes against them. However, they only ranked 21st in yards per rush allowed. The one aspect of the New Orleans Saints they will continue to succeed in, is the running game. They will have Taysom Hill back under center and Alvin Kamara behind with loads of running and option plays to confuse the Bucs.
The Saints always have the Bucs numbers and it shows as they are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 meetings.
Pick: Saints +11
Monday Night Football
Minnesota Vikings vs Chicago Bears Expert Pick
Do we dare trust Kirk Cousins in primetime two weeks in a row? I’m not. There is a reason why the Vikings are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Chicago and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 meetings. Justin Fields and the Bears offense is slowly coming to life scoring a total of 52 points the last two games combined.
The Vikings defense may have 41 total sacks on the season but they have allowed at least 28 points in six of the last eight games. Time for the underdog.
