Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams may not play against the Green Bay Packers, the team where he played from 2014 until 2021. The player is struggling with a shoulder injury and didn’t take part in practice on Thursday and Friday.

Adams did participate in the Raider’s training session on Saturday but in a limited capacity. So, question marks remain on whether he will suit up and reunite with his former teammates on Monday.

One of the Best Receivers in Packers’ Franchise History

Selected as the 53rd overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Adams turned into arguably the best receiver the Green Bay Packers ever had. He notched 73 receiving touchdowns in his eight seasons with the Packers and is only behind legendary Don Hutson and his score of 99 receiving touchdowns.

With 669 receptions and 8,121 receiving yards, Adams ranks second and fourth in Packers’ NFL history respectively, while he is third in receiving yards per game, recording an average of 70 yards on receptions per game.

Adams has the most receiving yards in a single season and holds the record for both the Packers (1,553) and the Raiders, where he collected 1,516 receiving yards in a single season.

Only two other players hold this type of record for two different franchises, one is receiver Tyreek Hill who had 1,710 yards on receptions last season and did the same for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018, when he notched 1,479 receiving yards. The other is Brandon Marshall, who had the most yards on receptions for the New York Jets and the Chicago Bears.

Chasing another Record

This season, Adams has three touchdowns and 33 receptions for 397 receiving yards. Interestingly, according to NFL Research, should Adams play against the Packers on Monday, he has the chance to become only the 14th player in NFL history who has recorded five or more receptions against all NFL teams.

The 30-year-old NFL star joined the Raiders in March 2022 after a contract impasse with the Packers. Las Vegas gave up first and second-round picks to get Adams. With those picks, Green Bay brought in linebacker Quay Walker and, after trading up, went on to recruit wideout Christian Watson.
