The Pittsburgh Steelers and the New England Patriots hold the record for the most Super Bowl wins, each with six titles. Following closely are the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers, each with five championships. In total, 15 NFL franchises have won multiple Super Bowls.

The first Super Bowl was won by the Green Bay Packers. This victory marked a significant achievement for the team, which is based in Green Bay, Wisconsin and competes in the NFL’s National Football Conference North division.

The term “Super Bowl” was coined by Lamar Hunt, founder of the American Football League and owner of the Kansas City Chiefs. He was inspired by the “Super Ball” toy. His son, Lamar Hunt Jr., recounted that the term was a spontaneous creation that eventually became the official title.

The National Football League (NFL) holds the ownership rights to the “Super Bowl” trademark. The NFL has maintained this trademark since 1969, as recorded by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
